Pale Horse Ranch is the host of bull riding open events at their beautiful arena in Big Sandy, Texas. Enter the events to also enter in the Warriors and Rodeo Sponsored Series for first responders and military!
Mission: To provide an opportunity for fellowship, comradery, and good times. This is a great event for those who have served to meet new members who have similar interests. Not all military and first responders battle PTSD and depression. Those are our “first responders” who are ready to be there for a brother or sister in arms who are facing the battles of life. For those who have faced extremely difficult circumstances that have impeded their quality of life, events like these are incredible remedies, even if only temporary. Instead of a “shot in the butt” of medicine…
On the back of a bull “is my quiet place” (quote by Army Veteran Chip Holmes at a W.A.R. event)
Operation Not on My Watch – We are at war against suicide, depression, loneliness, and anxiety. Through the friendships and relationships formed at events like these, we’ve seen countless lives changed. One member said, ” Every time I see someone from W.A.R. at an event now I can enjoy myself a lot more. I know someone there has my six.”
Operation Armor – Through this event series, we are hoping to raise the funds to purchase multiple bull riding vests, one or more new helmets, and gloves to “protect those in the arena who protect us out of the arena.” With the help of generous donations, we plan to award these at the finals to the Warriors and Rodeo bull riders. Of course, this will depend on great partners who will join us in our missions. If you would like to donate for this event series, click here.
Dates & Time: Sign-in starts at 9 am. The draft starts no later than 11 am. The event starts at noon and ends at around 4 pm. Please call in the week before. (903) 812-8080

These are open bull riding events. Enter in the open and your score will be logged in the Warriors and Rodeo Series. You qualify for the Pale Horse Ranch payout and prizes along with the W.A.R. prizes. There is a one time $100 office fee & a $100 out fee. This qualifies you for the 50% payout for the open and W.A.R. prizes.
There are low, medium, and high bulls, ½ walking bulls to bulls that can and have been on tour – full pens. The producer asks you call before to sign up and to discuss bulls. Process: Draw numbers for each pen. Medium bulls are always the biggest number. They pull their numbers go through the pen and pick the bull they want to ride. Bulls are bulls, though. Nothing can be guaranteed. Sometimes high bulls have a bad night while other times a low bull acts like it’s on tour.
I encourage you to call the producer of the event for details of the draws and payout. He and his wife are extremely supportive of Warriors and Rodeo and will be more than happy to explain the event and process. We are honored to partner with them and we look forward to the future as we build this and other programs with them. (903) 812-8080
